Zaltmir Savich 04/12/15

I've know Savich for about 12 years, but today I learned his first name, Zaltmir.

I'm sure I'm not alone here, he was always known all as Mr Savich. It's men like this that didn't need a first name because of the respect he earned, he'll forever be Mr. Savich. He was a tireless supporter of the vintage VW community. From Virginia to Connecticut, Pennsylvania to Long Island, if there was a show, Savich would there selling everything you could possibly need, and if by chance he didn't have it, he would bring it the following weekend at the next show he was at. He was always one of the first guys to set up. He would then make his way around the field, looking for bargains that he would pick up and later pass on to someone else that day.

He was a hustler, busted his hump more than anyone I've ever known. Our community is a lesser place today because of his passing, but I feel fortunate to have known him.

As Billy Joel wrote in song, "Only the good die young".

He will be missed.

My condolences to his family.

Dave
Can you really own too many VW's? I haven't found my limit. Have you?

This is very sad news indeed. I remember his trailer at every show for as long as I've been in the hobby. He will be missed.
