04.02.08

Englishtown's VW Spring Classic Show-N-Go is on the 13th. Everyone is getting ready, waking up their cars after a long winters nap. I personally am looking for the start of the '08 season. On a sadder note, the Super Jam, the event held at Maple Grove for the last 15+ years is being moved to Pittsburg, a bit of a schlep for some of us. Maple Grove had planned on holding another VW event in it's place but recently decided to pull the plug because conflicts with the Pittsburg event. Maybe they'll be back next year, but for now, Maple Grove is off the list. It's always good o check our NEWS page and EVENTS section to find out the latest about what is happening in the local VW scene.

03.20.08

Kudos to member Raul Fernandez for scoring the cover postiion on the April issue of Ultra VW. It's a UK publication but it's available here in the U.S.  Unfortunately Raul's will be featured only on the UK cover, however the article will be in both issues [they produce two different covers]. It's a great magazine, if you you are not familiar with it and didn't pick one up at our holiday party, run down to your local Borders and pick up the April issue [on sale March 25th], you won't be disappointed. To see the UK cover with his Mango beauty, click here.

Here’s an update regarding Bill Sills and the fire. Bill's doing fine, he’s trying to pull things together. He’s getting new transportation lined up and then he will reassess what he's gonna do on the air-cooled front. Like I mentioned before, the damage was limited to the garage and the vehicles. The house and everything else is fine. Bill sent me a few pics to share. These are not for the squeamish, so view at your own risk.

Keep Bill in your thoughts.

Wow, what a show, I hope you were there to see history in the making. Probably one of the most idyllic settings for a VW event, the All Air-Cooled Gathering, despite threatening skies, was a tremendous success. Well over 200 people showed with nearly 100 cars, we couldn’t ask for more. We raised a significant chunk of change through the generosity of our sponsors and our participants. With storms all around us, keeping many more people away, we were spared any significant rain except for a bit on Saturday night. Mark my words, this will soon become the must attend air-cooled VW event in New Jersey if not the whole north east. Give me a couple days and I'll post some pics on the Event Pics section of the site.

07.14.05

Remember, the All Air-Cooled Gathering is this weekend, the 15th and 16th of July. Don't miss it, it's destine to be one of Jersey's finest shows!

Welcome to the launch of our new website. First thing you'll notice is a subtle change in the URL. To avoid confusion, or trouble in locating the site on the web, we are dropping the "ii" off the name. Considering we still have members from the original incarnation of the club, it's like it never stopped. As for the site itself, besides a new design we've added a few new features, like the Classifieds page and the Membership page. Now you can buy or sell cars and parts, and sign-up or renew you membership on-line. We are also updating the Members page with current pics and brief bios so you can learn a little more about your fellow club members. There will also be an on-line Newsletter. The articles are coming in so if you have something to contribute, e-mail you article to me. Much of the new site is in progress so check back often to see it's progress. If you have any questions of suggestions, please e-mail me . Thanks!
